Ear Pain Caused By These Things

Ear pain can be caused by infection in one ear, but there are some conditions that can cause ear pain or feel uncomfortable.

Ear infections

Ear infections usually occur in the middle ear. Ear infections are present when the Eustachian tube of the ear becomes closed or swollen from a buildup of fluid in the middle ear. This blockage can be caused by flu, allergies, smoking, sinus infections, and excessive mucus. This disorder is common to children. About 75 percent of children under the age of 3 years have suffered from this disorder.

Reduced hearing, pain in the inside of the ear, and discharge of pus resembling the pus from the ear are some of the symptoms. Although a mild infection can disappear on its own, you can deal with some of the following ways

• Taking over-the-counter medicines, such as ibuprofen, decongestant, or acetaminophen.
• Use ear drops to relieve pain.
• Place a warm cloth on the infected ear.
• Even so, it is recommended to check your ears to the doctor if you experience pain that does not subside. The doctor may give antibiotics to cure the ear infection.

Tinnitus

Tinnitus is a condition in which a person hears a humming or ringing in the ear. The sound comes from within the body.

Treatment of this condition is generally done by diagnosing the underlying cause of tinnitus. The ways applied include:

• If the condition is caused by a disturbance in the blood vessels, it will be treated with medication or surgery.
• Eliminate ear wax to reduce symptoms of tinnitus.
• Certain medications can cause tinnitus, so changing the medication can reduce this condition.

A loud noise can be one of the main causes of tinnitus, so that it can be done as much as possible to avoid overly loud sounds, such as the volume of a TV, the sound of a musical instrument, or a heavy vehicle.

Meniere's disease

Conditions that generally occur in one ear this can be caused by abnormal fluid in the inner ear that causes vertigo abruptly. Sudden whirling and tinnitus are the two main symptoms. Diseases commonly experienced by people aged 40-50 years is generally treated with drugs to handle vertigo, injections in the middle ear, or surgery. But of course this procedure can only be done by a specialist.
